“Diet”: The word evokes self-loathing and regret in nearly everyone who has faced a problem associated with weight. Aside from the basic lack of commitment to a better life style through a healthy weight and exercise regimen, what is the other single major reason for the continued failure of the “diet culture?” It is that the average person lacks a basic understanding of the way in which the human body has evolved to ferociously hang on to any energy stores as a means to prevent starvation when food is scarce. In addition, one needs to appreciate that appetite control can be had through dietary variety. A balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins is a must. One cannot be successful with an exclusively low fat or low carbohydrate diet as these will cause the brain to emit hormonal signals indicating a nutritional insufficiency and a person's appetite will intensify. Thus, when an individual chooses to begin a weight loss program and the initial success at rapid weight loss is followed by ever diminishing returns as a consequence of the body’s response to a reduced caloric intake, many a person will give up. The key to continued success is controlling one's appetite while still maintaining a negative caloric intake: difficult to say the least. Success in weight control in our modern society of stressful lifestyles, ready access to plentiful calories and limited time for adequate exercise requires that people learn some basic principles of biochemistry and physiology. This certainly does not mean that one need an advanced degree to be able to control his/her diet. However, if knowledge is power, then having the basic understanding of how the body processes the food we eat and how it responds hormonally to a perception of starvation will allow one to better succeed at effective weight control.
The HiPaCC diet is effectively designed with these guiding principles in mind. Should one choose to embark upon a successful dietary regimen using the HiPaCC formula, they will find that the knowledge they need is at their disposal. This dietary plan is unique in many respects. First and foremost is that its foundation is built upon the basic understanding that a diet MUST be balanced in fats, carbohydrates and especially proteins. Low fat or low carbohydrate diets alone will doom an individual to failure as can be seen in the plethora of diet gurus whose proclamations have come and gone. In addition, the HiPaCC diet acknowledges that every individual will have a different lifestyle, a different dietary preference (e.g. omnivore, vegetarian or vegan) and thus has tailored its formula to be accommodative to these variations. People often fail at what might otherwise be successful dietary plans because the restrictions imposed make it difficult under the best of circumstance and often impossible in others to follow faithfully. This is one key area the HiPaCC diet has effectively addressed. The diet can be adhered to at home as well as when away on business or on vacation. Thus, there will be a greater likelihood that an individual will be able to maintain their effective weight control under all circumstances.
Aside from the use of food groups to control appetite and weight, it is important to understand and appreciate the role of exercise in weight loss. The most basic benefits of exercise are of course a healthier heart. But it is equally important to appreciate that exercise increases ones basal rate of metabolism which leads to increased caloric consumption even when not involved in any level of exertion. Maintain a reduced caloric input in conjunction with a varied level of exercise and the result is rapid weight loss. Lest one not forget the importance of exercise in controlling weight, the HiPaCC diet plan includes numerous, varied and easily accomplished exercise regimens that can be performed essentially anywhere.
The dietary revolution has indeed begun and it is the HiPaCC diet. A successful long-term weight loss program has arrived and it is yours for the taking!
